Mindfulness can be defined as follows: “Paying attention to something , in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally” (Kabat-Zinn, 2003).

Mindfulness leads to awareness. When we pay attention to what is happening, to our inner live, to our thoughts and feelings, it leads us to take better choices and cultivate healthier attitudes, kindness and self-compassion.

Mindfulness can be learned and combined with other strategies in psychotherapy and counseling to enrich our everyday experiences.
